January at IndigoSilk

February 16th, 2010

January Colour Workshop

Had a good weekend with retreat guests and a Colour Workshop Day here on Saturday,  I was delighted that they want to learn more, so are returning on Sunday 28th February for a follow-up day - Colour Workshop Level 2.  If anyone else who has done a colour workshop would like to do this extra day to broaden their colour knowledge, just get in touch.

New Courses

I have been busy getting more new courses organised and feel very excited about all of them.  They should appeal to a very wide range of people and help open up new paths for more people.

Streamline Machine

Have now got a Streamline Machine here at IndigoSilk, which may be a lot more convenient to some people.  There will be a small surcharge for credit cards unfortunately, to counteract the processing costs.  Sorry for this.  Debit Cards are fine though.

Full Moon

Full Moon coming up on Saturday (30th Jan) , quite a few people I have spoken to are complaining of tiredness, lethargy and heaviness or pressure headaches.  Partly due to the influence of the full moon and the weather probably.  But remember we are constantly being bombarded by new energies coming in and these are quite strong, in the lead up to 2012.  They take a little while to adjust each time they come in.  Just lie low and go with the flow.  Don’t over exert yourselves, just use this adjustment time to rebalance.  Our next Full Moon Celebration at IndigoSilk is on Tuesday 30th March.

Lomi Lomi Massage

Have just had a lovely Lomi Lomi Massage from our therapist Katie Pattison.  Two whole hours of pure bliss!  Feel very floaty now! It was especially nice opening my eyes at the end of it to look up at the starry night sky through the conservatory rood, and see the reflections of all the candles up there too.  A lovely experience!  Try it some time!  As well as massage therapies, Katie will also be joining us in March to give classes in massage.

Angel Workshop

This weekend we have an Angel Workshop Day, which I will be teaching, and a Seichem Level 1, Part 1, Training Day, taught by Amby Stanyer-Hunter.  Amby is also here at IndigoSilk on Monday night to give a talk on Nutrition for Spirituality which should be very interesting.

Children’s Workshops for the Easter Holidays

Children’s Workshops for the Easter Holidays are now being organised.  We have two unicorn workshops, an angel workshop, cupcake baking and hopefully an arty crafty one too!  Places fill up fast, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Claire Sawers of THE LIST kick-starts the year by decluttering her aura at East Lothian’s newest spiritual retreat IndigoSilk

January 21st, 2010

January is traditionally the month for decluttering. Your cupboards, your insides, your bad habits; the start of the year is a perfect time to fling out the old and welcome in the new. But what about getting rid of bad juju? Detoxing your emotional baggage and cleansing your head with a good dose of spirituality? If the ‘S’ word fills you with fear, or worse, a mental montage of new-agey cults or bare-footed pagan festivals, then you may care to look away now.

If, on the other hand, you’re happy having the occasional flirt with say, astrology or tarot cards, then you may be interested in what Jilly Greig offers at her luxurious East Lothian haven.

Happy Summer Solstice!!

June 22nd, 2009

In case any of you didn’t realise it, we have just celebrated the longest day of the year, and the shortest night of the year, otherwise known as the summer solstice. Solstice means the “standing of the sun” and it is a great time to take a step out, and look back at what we have achieved since the winter solstice. Celebrate your successes, and acknowledge your failures, but regard them as valuable lessons. This is a time to count your blessings, and to celebrate each other, and our individuality within our communities.

From now on until the winter solstice, we should focus on what we wish to nurture in ourselves. To celebrate Summer Solstice, you may like to stay up all night, climb a hill and watch the sun rise, or if you are on the east coast, watch the sun rise over the sea. summer solstice

My seven secrets of survival

March 10th, 2009

Jilly Greig, Colour Therapist, has been telling Scotsman Magazine about her seven secrets of survival!

1 Ever since I was ill quite a few years ago I have found the outcome of “life challenges” are really helped by a positive mental attitude. This helped me fight breast cancer, and later to get through the death of my husband. I’m convinced that, had I just curled up and surrendered to the pain, I would not be here to tell the tale. Positive thinking makes you strong. Learn to have faith in the universe, go with the flow and believe all will be well. It really works.

2 Clear clutter from your life. This is not just about having a tidy up, but decluttering physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. The best time to do this is after a full moon. During the waning cycle, get rid of unwanted things. This can include people. Fair-weather friends who you no longer have anything in common with, or who drain you of energy, should be cut loose – for both your sakes.

3 I have a store of little notebooks, usually covered in beautiful Indian textiles. I fill each page with things I want to achieve, or to have in my life (including the ideal chap). My notes have to be extremely detailed and very specific. Then I meditate on those things daily, visualise the wonderful outcome, and they always manifest eventually. I follow up with a huge tick across that page. This is how I achieved many aspects of my life that I value – including my lovely rural cottage.

4 If I am having a rotten day, I go for a very long walk over the fields with the dog, playing my iPod extremely loudly all the way. If it’s a bad day romantically, I’ll listen to Leonard Cohen. If it’s a bad day business wise, I might play Metallica or Jimi Hendrix. The only rule is that I have to sing along at the top of my voice. I’m probably well known locally as the “weird witchy woman that cannae sing”.

5 I have become a person who won’t suffer fools gladly, despite the fact that I was never like that in the old days. However, when you bring up five kids, run a house and a business on your own, you get tough and learn to say what’s on your mind, rather than wasting time pussyfooting around people. Sometimes it’s just what the doctor ordered, allowing you to work through problems quickly and move on.

6 I am a great believer in having a good psychic medium. You have to be extremely selective about this, and I have worked my way through many to find the good ones. If I ever have a challenge that requires an outside perspective, I consult a medium. Departed loved ones and angels help you get another point of view. You might ask why I don’t just ask my friends for an opinion. However, they are usually too attached and can’t be objective. I highly recommend speaking to a clairvoyant instead, but you do have to be very selective about who you consult.

7 I’m very lucky to have many good friends. A good laugh and a gossip over dinner and wine does me no end of good. It makes me feel grounded, and can turn potential nightmare scenarios into hilarious episodes of the ridiculous.

Edinburgh Evening News: 10 Questions

January 20th, 2009

Jilly Greig, 49, is a colour therapist, an Angel Teacher and the owner of IndigoSilk. She lives near Haddington and was invited to take part in the Evening News’ 10 Questions.

1 What is your earliest memory of Edinburgh? Going with my dad to Valvona & Crolla on a Saturday morning to buy coffee and wine. I also remember sitting with him on the roof of his factory, James Dunbar Limited, in Albion Road, watching a Hibs match over the wall in Easter Road.

2 What are your memories of school? I went to the Mary Erskine School from the age of four. I remember playing in the attics, and having sports day in nearby Queens Street Gardens. Again, funnily enough, I remember the food aspect, and that you won a Playbox biscuit if you were unplaced.

3 What is your favourite place in Edinburgh and why? Stockbridge, Morningside and Bruntsfield. The individual shops and restaurants are a welcome relief from the ubiquitous chain stores.

4 What are the best things about Edinburgh?
The amazing mix of culture, especially during the Festival. Beautiful architecture, history and views of the river.

5 What would you change about the city? The shops in Princes Street. Dull, uninspiring and predictable.

6 Describe a perfect Edinburgh day/night out? Brunch at Urban Angel, getting an aura photo and tarot reading at Golden in the Royal Mile, a massage in Zen, Bruntsfield, then meeting up with friends in Sofi’s bar before eating out at The Waterfront. This all has to be either by taxi or, in my imagination, chauffeur driven, as the parking spoils it all.

7 Which sports interest you?
I like watching rugby on the telly, or when my son is playing at school. I enjoy water skiing and sailing, as long as it’s on a boat that’s over thirty feet and you can hold a gin and tonic without spilling it.

8 What was your most embarrassing moment? Being taken home a “little bit tiddly” in a police car when I was seventeen. I had lost one of the heels from my boots, and my mum and dad were having a party in the house when I arrived with the policeman.

9 What is your greatest achievement? Bringing up five kids on my own and seeing them turn out not too bad.

10 Sum up Edinburgh in three words.
Cultural, beautiful, buzzing.

Orbs Photos

November 22nd, 2008

Below are some recent orb photos:

Christina marshall sent in these orb picture taken in the pentland hills.

This buddha orb image was taken in Jilly’s house.

These are of a special rabbit called flopsy belonging to angel workshop participant. The rabbit always has orbs around it. We sent a picture to Diana cooper and she sent back this explanation: “This is an angel of Archangel Gabriel holding three Spirits. One of them has come to be with your rabbit.”

Faeries are the little smudges of white light in this pictre, taken in the Ugston Mill garden.

This image shows the moon rising over the lammermuir hills, and a huge orb “watching”.

These orb photos were all taken in Jilly’s garden.

Orbs

November 22nd, 2008

Orbs are a phenomenon which are being brought more and more into our awareness, as we get closer the the great changes around the year 2012. They are seen frequently on photos taken by digital cameras, and have been proven not to be a fault in the pictures. Many show emanations which are of spirit, including angels, faeries, departed loved ones, and archangels. The more textured the orb, the higher level of being it is. For example the archangel orbs are generally coloured and have a “doily” like pattern (as in the rabbit orb).

Orbs are very attracted to fun, happy and musical occasions, celebrations such as weddings, birthdays or christenings. They are often seen around religious or spiritual artefacts or in places of spiritual significance, as well as beside people who are spiritually gifted, aware or looked after.

You can ask orbs to come to you, and to actually sit on your hand to be photographed! It takes practice, and you need to be in the right frame of mind, have respect and be thankful. You can find out more about orbs in Diana Cooper’s book Enlightenment through orbs, (you can buy this online in jilly’s website shop) or Orbs speak by William Bloom, among others. If anyone has any photos that you would like to send in to Jilly for publishing on the site, please do so, all will be very welcome!
